The Youth of Rosamosario — VOL. I

Miami, 2008. Kate Moss and Lara Stone laze in the scorching sun. Tall palm trees swing in the breeze, an air balloon takes off above the ocean. It is a timeless American afternoon.

A crowd of designers, children and top models play with dogs on the grass. It’s the beginning of the 21st century, but the day’s Sunday-vibe has a light as from the 1970s. A radio plays a catchy hit from a distance. Host-cum-photographer Bruce Weber immortalises the day.

Among faces of the likes of Kate Moss, Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Lara Stone and Daria Werbowy, a young Carlotta Danti creeps into vision. Flaunting an extra large dress and an artsy short haircut, she is presenting pieces from her 3-years-old fashion line: newly-born Rosamosario, her haute couture brainchild debuting in the fashion Olympus. Carlotta’s expression is elusive.

“The smallest pieces must have the best techniques,”

states Danti, whose sartorial expertise was honed over years of atelier work for Vivienne Westwood. “There is always something new among the greatest tradition,” she whispers as she adjusts a vintage-looking bustier on Lara Stone’s naked back.

Il Nome Della Rosa nightdress by Rosamosario is captured draping Moss’s statuary figure. The long see-through dress is beautifully clothed by bridal French chantilly lace. Sumptuous roses in burnt black silk are scattered on the lower back and legs, in stark contrast with the romantic transparency underneath. Kate Moss is standing within curtains, sensually showing the garment that elegantly falls on her thigh. The gown’s semi-transparency bestows mysterious effects, and the couture corsetry softly enfolds the bust, complimenting her overpowering femininity.

Eccentric photographs from the Miami camping shoot show Lara Stone wearing Rosamosario’s Lace Me Up cotton canvas corset as a skirt.

She provocatively ties the back string on the derrière, making her bottom visible. The corset, flaunting elaborate embroidery details on the front, perfectly wraps Stone’s curves thanks to couture tailoring cuts all around that glorify her natural curves.

A topless Kate Moss seats languidly in a pair of Rosamosario briefs and stilettos. Moss’s godly posture is one together with the sophistication of Rosamosario’s garment. The clean lines of the briefs spouse her perfect breast and luminous expression, forging an unmistakable piece of art. The briefs in deep red and black Italian silk define her lower silhouette with a high-waist cut. The details on the front and the cut on the waistline and legs make for a vintage style that celebrates timeless female allure.

Deathless thanks to Bruce Weber's visionary and Kate Moss’s godly poses, Miami 2008 was a prophetic shoot for the future of Rosamosario. Pieces of art with full rights, these images enclosed all the elegance, sophistication and glory of Rosamosario’s then-future history.
