Paolo Roversi X Rosamosario "The Light is Life"

"... I am always in search of beauty. This I know for sure..."

Italian power-house Roversi is one of the fashion world's most sought-after names. His unique aesthetic and technique are instantly recognisable. He explains his famous technique ins saying  “My photography is more subtraction than addition. I always try to take off things. We all have a sort of mask of expression. You say goodbye, you smile, you are scared. I try to take all these masks away and little by little subtract until you have something pure left. A kind of abandon, a kind of absence. It looks like an absence, but in fact when there is this emptiness I think the interior beauty comes out. This is my technique”.

He has shot Rosamosario pieces three times. Firstly, in W Magazine  ‘Paolo Roversi’s High Style’ story, where Roversi captures a uniquely beautiful image.  The model poses heavily adorned with glamourous garments yet in front of a dark and sinister backdrop. A perfect potion for Roversi’s creative role behind the camera.

In a shoot for Another Magazine ‘All Undressed and Nowhere to go' rich wooden paneling, a velvet-tasseled bedspread and endless layers of supple leather are combined to create an overwhelmingly erotic, slightly off-kilter fantasy in this magnificent photoshoot.

"ALL UNDRESSED AND NOWHERE TO GO"

Big Time Sensuality: AnOther's Most Intimate Style Moments

Rich wooden panelling, a velvet-tasselled bedspread and endless layers of supple leather are combined to create an overwhelmingly erotic, slightly off-kilter fantasy in this magnificent photoshoot from the Issue of AnOther. Throw in a few cut-out masks and latex hoods, and you have yourself a weekend in a countryside cabin to remember. “What should she be called, the woman framed always in the window, in the television dust?”

"NEO GEISHA"

And for the stunning ‘Neo Geisha’ shoot for British Vogue.  Roversi’s work portrays his dark, artistic signature style in a distinctive way. The bold images have a punk and new romantic aesthetic yet the clothing mixes classic Japanese silhouettes. We love the way his work champions art, fashion and style in way no-one else has quite matched.
