Housed in a Knightsbridge townhouse decorated with vintage furniture and antiques, Italian luxury loungewear brand Rosamosario opens its first boutique.
The intimate, atmospheric space offers a showcase for the ready to wear collection of exquisite handmade pieces and a by appointment salon for couture and bridal services.
I have been working between London and Milan for many years and opening a store is a triumph. For me, one of the greatest pleasures of being a designer is meeting clients.
The young designer became fascinated with the language of feminine grace, the craft of embroidery and ‘flou’, and she set about creating a collection that would speak in the universal language of seduction. Danti now collaborates with a host of celebrities including Madonna, Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Rihanna on couture ‘performance’ pieces handmade by seamstresses in the Milan studio.
...the beauty of Italian heritage
The boutique, located at 18, Milner Street, is composed of three rooms. The décor takes its cue from the theatre of traditional Italian reception rooms with the main salon featuring blossom pink satin upholstered Gio Ponti seating and 18th century Murano glass chandeliers strewn with flower bouquets. The windows are ‘dressed’ with grand satin swags and French lace trimmed chiffon curtains that echo the intricate lingerie detailing.
A sense of theatricality pervades. In the bridal salon, gold upholstery, late Baroque bronze chandeliers and Arras hunting tapestries provide a seductive backdrop for personal appointments. Rosamosario’s marabou trimmed capes; corsets, camisoles and bias cut silk satin peignoir gowns offer up the finest bridal wardrobe.
from a small bud, a great beauty
The third room, named the ‘influencer’ area is a dressing room propped with a giant portrait of Rihanna in a sheer Rosamosario ruffled slip dress clutching a baby. The image, by Terry Richardson, is one of Danti’s favourites. Her designs are regularly featured in Vogue, W, Vanity Fair and Harpers Bazaar lensed by photographers including Mert and Marcus, Juergen Teller and Patrick Demarchelier. From a small bud, a great beauty has grown in Rosamosario.
“As a designer my role is to craft clothes that ignite fantasy and make pieces to be worn and cherished over time. Now, that fantasy is ever more tangible with the opening of my first boutique,” says Danti.
